Different Types of Fangirl! 

The Hardliner 

The Hardliner is a strictly one Fandom Fangirl. They only accept their Fandom, and their ships. They don't except crossover ships or people belittling their Fandom or saying another is better. They will try to convert you to their fandom and hope you fall in love with it, the same as them. 

  

The Undercover 

You'll never know that she is a fangirl. She never speaks about it and she doesn't have merchandise. She waits until she goes onto the internet to show her obsessive fangirl side all over every site that will listen to her fangirling. Basically a closet fangirl. ;-) 

The All-rounder 

They like every fandom a little bit and are always being introduced to new fandoms, but they cant seem to find one that's just right for them. They don't have a main fandom. They're very open-minded about fandoms. 

  

The Godmother 

You're new to the Fandom, That's cute! All you need is to find yourself a fandom Godmother she'll be happy to take care of you and answer all your questions about the mystical world of being a fangirl. ;) 

  

The Shipper 

She ships absolutely everything! If she doesn't have a ship for a show the world is about to end because this girl ships everything from crossover characters to the teacher in her school. If she could she would ship inanimate objects. Heck she even ships colors! 

  

The Hardcore (not the same as Hardliner) 

This fangirl knows absolutely everything about their fandom and when I say everything I don't use the word lightly. If there is anything you don't know just listen to her talk and it should come up at one time or another because she talks about her fandom all the time. She most likely has all the merchandise they sell, and watches/ reads/ listens to anything to do with her fandom over and over and over again. Usually likes to hang out with other fangirls so her fangirl time isn't limited.

Meet Cath, a Simon Snow fanfic writer. Attends college and is sincerely worried for her father. Has a twin named Wren who unlike Cath loves her independence and tries to wean herself away from her sister. Which she does so with no problem. But Cath, who has always leaned on her sister finds it very difficult to talk to her estranged new dorm mate and that one handsome yet annoying guy. All while she tries to her update her work of fiction. 

• Review: 

This book was so funny and yet so touching, I couldn’t put the it down and even if I did I was always tempted to pick it back up again. The story revolves around Cath who is a fanfic writer for the series Simon Snow. She starts college with her sister and there she meets many people. This book really opened my eyes. As a fanfic writer and a fellow fangirl, I could relate to Cath. I realized myself that I am a lot like her in that we are both bad at socializing. But also a little bit like Wren, someone who wants independence.  

• Recommendation: 

If you are looking to sit back, relax and read a good contemporary, then Fangirl is the book for you. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes the fluffy romance and the quirky sense of humor this book holds. Hopefully, you pick it up and enjoy it!

Fifteen-year-old Clary Fray, your average artsy teenage girl with her gamer/comic geek best friend Simon Lewis goes to the club Pandemonium . Inside, she sees a blue haired boy and a beautiful raven haired girl heading for the stored room with two boys following undetected behind them armed with what appears to be a knife. No one else seems to see them so she gets Simon to go get help while she follows them. She listens to a bizarre conversation about demons and watches the blue haired 'boy' being killed and suddenly vanish.

 Clary being an artsy girl likes to draw and she can't seem to get a symbol out of her head, later she finds out that the people she saw in Pandemonium and the symbol are connected when she sees it again but on the blond haired boy she saw with the knife. She then gets a frightening phone call from her mother and is sucked into a world where every fantasy story she read and every nightmare she's had is real… 

I think people who are in love with the fantasy world as much as I am can understand my intense love for this book. It's the first book of the Mortal Instruments series, there are six in total. Like all books there are flaws to the writing but I think there are really great assets in this book. I feel like the friendship between Clary and Simon wasn't developed fully and Clary was portrayed too naively.  

I do like how the relationship between Clary and Jace developed, the way Jace not only acts cocky and reckless around her but sweet, caring and gets her to trust him. One of my favourite parts of the book is the twist at the end, it not only gives an interesting end to this book but gives you a lot to think about before you read the next. 

 If you like fantasy, action packed romance novels then I can recommend you read this book.
